  The question is; is there a group of people that celebrate universal truth about God, not "does there have to be one,".

  That sounds like the reasoning of a person who wants to hide from the truth instead of seeking it.

  Alice, Truly I offer you congratulations on a real piece of Conversation.

  Hang on to that point.

  Hang on to this thread of reason as a professing Christian.Assume that the other person who has used the Bible to reason with continue to do the same. You have used an expression that shows that you essentially are seeking truth. Now appeal for Bible reasoning on that common ground. Hold that ground for a minute and dig in there. Don't jump overboard.

  Reason from the scriptures now---the meeting place for all proper Christian differences.

  there is only one timeframe that matters to a jehovah's witness: the present.. "so what if we taught that in 1993?

  this is our present truth!.

  jehovah's witnesses are being conditioned to think that the organization's history is unimportant, "the way jehovah is blessing the work now proves that this is his organization".. here's a question: if you were born into a catholic family in 1922, lived 70 years and died in 1992, what is your current standing before jehovah according to jw doctrine?

  My Grandfather.

  my grandfather fought in the first ww.

  he was in the trenches in france, he was gased and survived we always thought of him as one of the "generation" when we were kids.

  he lived to almost 90, died in 1979.. he was always against the "truth" he mocked, he referred to my parents, his son, as a bible basher/thumper ect.

  Whatever happened to kindness?

  lately i've notice how few people i'm around practice kindness.. it is, frankly, apalling to me.. i don't see any reason to be rude.

  there is too much of that already.. when somebody makes a mistake i try to let it drop and not mention it or give them a dig.. why?

  how hard is it to be kind?.

  Maybe because people don't want to take the time out for it. They may think they are too busy.

  Kindness depends on you slowing down enough to recognize what another might need even if you have nothing material to offer (although you might be able to do that). A few words of genuine kindness--nothing "over-the-top"-- but a piece of your time to share with them in their humanity.

  Kindness is the thing that anybody can give, whether they are rich or poor. Old or young. Anyone can offer a kindness to someone who needs it--if they will take a moment outside themselves to think of the other person.

  When there is no direct information, why don't individuals do as the apostle Paul at 1 Cor.7:25?

  He knew he didn't have permission to speak for God: "Now concerning virgins I have no command from the Lord, but I give my opinion..." Paul didn't make himself a Master of anyone's faith by overstepping the boundary of his personal opinion into making human opinion s abinding teaching.

  So why do these different religions do it--including the WTS?

  Oh, woe-man. Get togethers can make you wonder how God does it. How DOES he love us? I know I dread it when the young ones from all around get so messed up. Being able to access their better self --I dunno. I am around different country kids that aren't like they were thirty years ago. Its a mixed bag with some of the young kids who don't know what direction they're going.

  I've looked at the list on the wall of the county jail (more times than I wanted to) filled with names of bail bonds men and I wondered if business was always that good for them. Like I said --I dunno. Sorry...

  Now you'll have some quiet? or you'll have the 5 year old around?
